MEASURES FOR OUR COMMUNITIES
Safety and prevention tips
Being appropriately informed and updated is key when in crisis. Drivers and riders have been given hygienic protocols and the procedures to follow if they have concerns regarding possible exposure to the virus.
We are working towards distributing sanitiser products to all drivers, to help keep their cars clean.
Temporary suspension of Driver Centres
We have taken the decision to temporarily close our Driver Centres in all our operating markets until further notice. Drivers and riders are encouraged to keep sharing any questions or concerns they might have through the app.
In the unfortunate case of a Beat driver or passenger being diagnosed with COVID-19, they need to immediately notify our support team and they will be temporarily suspended from using Beat until they are medically cleared.
A new service for those in need
In this challenging times, we keep monitoring the needs of our local communities and cooperate with public authorities to address them. In Peru and Argentina, we have temporarily disabled our regular service and launched ‘Mission’ that can be used by drivers authorized by the Urban Transport Authority. This is a new service available throughout the State of Emergency to facilitate those in need to commute.
Transfer of Medical Staff
In Peru and Argentina, we have enabled a Beat bus transferring medical staff from and to the hospitals, in cooperation with the local autthorities. We are constantly looking for new ways to support the communities in all markets we operate.
MEASURES FOR OUR EMPLOYEES
Work From Home policy
In response to this evolving medical crisis, we immediately applied a Work From Home policy for all Beat employees in Athens, Amsterdam and LatAm, being among the first companies in the western hemisphere to implement this measure, even when the breakout was still at a very early stage in the respective countries. As of the 10th of March at our HQs in Athens and Amsterdam the Work From Home policy was applied and extended to all of our LatAm offices starting the 16th of March, until further notice.
All travels, including business trips and training, are postponed until further notice. Beat employees who travelled in high-risks areas within the last weeks, were imposed in a 14-day self-quarantine for precautionary reasons while kept working from home.
Caring about our workforce’s health and well-being is an always-on commitment of ours. In the unfortunate case a Beat employee, working in any of our locations around the world, is diagnosed with COVID-19, examination and hospitalization costs will be covered by the health insurance programs currently effective in each Beat office location.
Office cleaning and disinfection
On top of our high-standard daily cleaning routine, sanitizers are placed in all common areas and a precautionary deep cleaning and disinfection was carried out at our office spaces in Athens.
We commit to continue monitoring this situation and make the necessary updates to ensure we are doing everything we can to support our users, employees and public health.
