BEAT AT LATAM MOBILITY SUMMIT 2020

Our mission at Beat is to build technology for a better urban life. That’s why we actively participate in the LatAm Mobility Summit 2020, an event promoting and reinforcing sustainable mobility in the region. The Summit gathers business professionals from the Mobility & Transport sectors from all over Latin America, opening spaces for dialogue.

Latin America will reach an urban population rate of 89% in 2050. The number of cities globally will be multiplied by 6 in 50 years. 100 million residents are exposed to high levels of pollution in Latin America. The LatAm Mobility Summit seeks to present the importance of the implementation of alternatives for transport that is more respectful to the environment.

Beat is much more than a ride-hailing app. We aspire to contribute to our cities by understanding their people and their needs. With transportation holding a significant part in the framework of sustainable development, Beat designs its role as a local contributor and significant ally towards the construction of intelligent cities in Latin America.

The 2020 Summit takes place in various locations around the continent with Beat being present in Santiago of Chile (16 January), Mexico City (12 & 13 February), and Medellín, Colombia (10 & 11 June).

LatAm Mobility Summit 2020 kicked-off in Santiago of Chile, with this being the first time that Chile hosted this important event.

During the event, Michelle Gonzalez, Marketing Manager at Beat Chile, participated in a panel discussion under the topic “New Business Mobility Models: cars and shared rides, apps and adaptation challenges in the Latin American Market”. “The purpose of Beat is to build technology to make urban life better by offering a safe, efficient, affordable transportation alternative, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by connecting hundreds of thousands of drivers to nearby passengers. Therefore, Beat is also an option to make extra income, in which drivers can create their driving schedule, without limitations about days or hours” Michelle explained.

Furthermore, following the commitment we have to our cities, we aim to make a positive impact by helping our communities. For that reason, our Michelle Gonzalez also talked about the initiative taken in November when the social crisis started in Chile: the Beat Bus. This bus came out as a solution to help those affected by the metro shutdown and the limited transportation in most parts of Santiago. The Beat Bus covered Line 4 of the metro system during a month without any cost.
