Let’s get through it together
The COVID-19 pandemic is uncharted waters for all of us. As it continues to dominate the news, we are prepared to navigate through these challenging circumstances. Safety is at the forefront of everything we do. There is no higher priority within our organization.
We are monitoring the situation and how it develops very closely. We are assessing the latest news daily, remaining vigilant, adjusting plans as necessary, and taking steps proactively to follow all public health instructions and governmental safety measures announced.
It is our responsibility to keep our communities healthy and safe thus we have already taken precautions to protect drivers, riders and employees from the risk of contagion, and help them keep communities safe. We immediately applied a Work from Home policy for all Beat employees in Europe and LatAm. As of the 10th of March at our HQs in Athens and Amsterdam the Work From Home policy was applied and extended to all of our LatAm offices starting the 16th of March until further notice.
At Beat, we continue to be guided by the following constants:
○ Get the facts from the experts
○ Keep working as team
○ Keep calm
It is natural to be nervous during these times. But staying calm and well informed is the best antidote to panic.
Moreover, we shouldn’t forget the community and all small independent businesses that are tremendously affected. While health is the number one priority, the economic devastation many face in the coming weeks will be significant. If you are in a position to do so, here are some ideas you too might consider in your own lives that will make a difference:
• Let’s all help the elderly stay at home by offering to shop for them.
• If you are fortunate enough to employ any house cleaners, extra-curricular teachers for your kids etc…keep paying them even if they are forced to miss.
Let’s all stay positive and have in mind that Shakespeare wrote the masterpiece, King Lear, while quarantined for plague. During these times, the human race has a proven track of performing greatness both independently and collectively. Let’s all follow public health guidelines and governmental safety measures. We will all get through this together!
